Lab Grown Diamonds

A lab grown diamond is a diamond. Same carbon lattice, same hardness, same refractive index, same fire — the only difference is that it formed in a reactor over weeks rather than under a continent over a billion years. A jeweller cannot tell them apart by eye or with a loupe; it takes specialist equipment reading trace growth patterns.

What changed is price. As production capacity grew, lab diamond prices fell sharply, which means a carat weight and clarity grade that was out of reach a few years ago is now ordinary. That is the single biggest reason engagement ring budgets go further today than they did in 2020.
