Rose Gold Wedding Rings

Rose gold gets its colour from copper in the alloy, and that copper does something useful beyond the look: it makes rose gold slightly harder than yellow gold of the same karat. A 14k rose band will resist marking a little better than 14k yellow.

The colour also shifts with karat in a way people do not expect. Lower karats contain proportionally more copper, so 10k rose reads warmer and pinker than 18k rose, which is softer and more subtle. If you want an unmistakably rose ring, go lower. If you want a hint of warmth, go higher.

Rose flatters warm and olive skin tones particularly well, and it pairs beautifully with white diamonds because the contrast makes the stones read brighter.
