White Gold Wedding Rings

White gold is yellow gold alloyed with white metals and then plated with rhodium to give it its bright, cool finish. It is the most popular metal for wedding rings in the US, and it makes diamonds appear whiter than a yellow setting does.

One honest thing to know before you buy: the rhodium plating wears. Depending on how you use your hands, a white gold ring will start showing a warmer tone underneath somewhere between one and three years in, and needs replating to look new again. That is normal for all white gold at every karat — not a defect, and not specific to us. If you would rather never think about it, platinum is naturally white and never needs plating.
